Hello there! I am a children’s book author who believes that books are places where we can collectively hope and heal. I create work that celebrates queer and trans people in hopes that these stories will provide some of the much needed representation kids crave AND NEED as they engage in the essential work of searching for themselves.
 
My debut title, Not He or She, I'm Me was named one of the most empowering books of the year by Kirkus (2023), was named an American Library Association Stonewall Children’s Honor Book (2024), and was included in the Rainbow Book List for best in lgbtqia+ youth books (2025).

Two picture books are forthcoming, Mama, Zaza, and Me, acquired by Henry Holt Books for Young Readers, and The People's Beach, acquired by Kokila.​

When not writing, you can find me curled up with a good book, a plate of chocolate chip cookies, and if I'm really lucky, a cat that doesn't make me sneeze.​
