Hello there! I am a queer, nonbinary, Award Winning children’s book author who believes that books are places where we can collectively hope and heal. I create work that centers social justice, and celebrates LGBTQIA+ people in hope that these stories will provide some of the much needed representation kids crave AND NEED as they engage in the essential work of becoming themselves.
 
My debut title, Not He or She, I'm Me was named one of the most empowering books of the year by Kirkus (2023), received an American Library Association Stonewall Children’s Honor (2024), and was included in the Rainbow Book List for best in lgbtqia+ youth Books (2025).

Two picture books are forthcoming in 2027, Mama, Zaza, and Me, acquired by Henry Holt Books for Young Readers, and The People's Beach, acquired by Kokila.​

When not writing, you can find me curled up with a good book, a plate of chocolate chip cookies, and if I'm really lucky, a cat that doesn't make me sneeze.​
